Baltimore Ravens running back Trent Richardson will likely need to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun.

The injury isn't considered to be major but he's expected to miss an indeterminate amount of time, per Zrebiec.

Richardson did not play during the 2015 season after being released by the Oakland Raiders in August. The Ravens signed Richardson on April 18.

Considered to be one of the biggest busts of the modern era, Richardson is likely facing his last chance at redemption after being selected third overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2012. Richardson was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2013, but failed to make much of an impression.

Richardson is competing against Justin Forsett, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, and Terrance West on the depth chart.
