Dion Jordan's agent expects him to be reinstated for training camp

Dion Jordan may soon get another opportunity to make good on his NFL potential.

The Miami Dolphins defensive end, who sat out the entire 2015 season to serve a third substance abuse suspension, is currently seeking reinstatement.

Though the application is awaiting a decision from commissioner Roger Goodell, Jordan's representation is confident that he'll be back with the Dolphins in time for training camp this summer.

"I feel very strongly he will be reinstated without question," agent Doug Hendrickson told Barry Jackson of Miami Herald. "He's done everything he has been asked to do. We feel very good where we're at. We expect Dion to start training camp with the Dolphins."

Even if reinstated, Jordan will have plenty of work to do in earning himself a role on the Dolphins' defense. The multiple suspensions have forced the former first-round pick to miss 22 games over his first three seasons, and he managed just three sacks in his 26 appearances.

Either way, though, Miami will undoubtedly welcome the addition of a talented player to further bolster the defensive front.

With a strong showing in training camp and preseason action, Jordan would presumably have the opportunity to emerge as a primary rotational pass rusher in nickel packages.
