Buccaneers' Austin Seferian-Jenkins: Contrite, apologetic Tuesday following prior week's incident

Seferian-Jenkins took full responsibility Tuesday for both being asked to leave last Thursday's OTA session, and for his social media communications with fans following the incident, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

It was a tumultuous conclusion to OTAs last week for the third-year tight end to say the least, as he was banished to the locker room by head coach Dirk Koetter for a lack of preparation. Seferian-Jenkins' social media-based reactions to the ouster only served to exacerbate the situation, as he became belligerent in his digital exchanges with a number of fans who took the opportunity to levy criticism at him for his play over his first two seasons. The towering tight end was a full participant in the opening mini-camp practice Tuesday, and expressed regret-- as well as support for his head coach's decision to remove him from practice-- in meeting with reporters after the conclusion of the session. Seferian-Jenkins is once again set to be a focal point of the Bucs' offensive attack going in to 2016, but his ability to deliver on his massive potential will naturally hinge on whether he's able to remain healthy throughout the campaign.
