The Los Angeles Rams appear to be content with the status quo when it comes to their front office.

The team is negotiating contract extensions for head coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead, with talks expected to pick up in the coming months, Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Fisher is entering the final season of a five-year contract.

The Rams' unwavering commitment to Fisher and Snead is puzzling on a number of levels. Fisher's Rams haven't had a winning season since he took over in 2012. Indeed, Fisher-coached teams have produced winning seasons only six times over the last 21 years.

Yet Rams owner Stan Kroenke apparently remains convinced Fisher and Snead are the right men for the job. And in some ways it's easy to see why he thinks that. The Rams have built one of the NFL's best young defenses and now believe they have a future franchise quarterback in No. 1 pick Jared Goff. It would be almost foolish to let Fisher and Snead go now, without letting them execute their plan for Goff.
