The Arizona Cardinals will have to wait until training camp to get a look at the newest veteran addition to their offensive line.

Cardinals guard Evan Mathis recently underwent ankle surgery to remove a bone fragment and is expected to be at full health in time for training camp, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

Mathis was expected to have ankle surgery in February, reports Mike Klis of 9News.

Mathis was signed by the Cardinals on a one-year deal in March after winning Super Bowl 50 as a member of the Denver Broncos. The 34-year-old has played 12 NFL seasons split between the Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Carolina Panthers.

The two-time Pro Bowler didn't miss any games in 2015, but was listed as questionable with an ankle injury in Week 11.

Mathis is expected to be the Cardinals starting right guard next season.
