Patriots' Dion Lewis: Continues to progress

Lewis, who wasn't present at last week's OTA's, relayed Friday that his rehab from a torn ACL is "going well," WEEI.com reports.

Analysis:

While it's unlikely that Lewis will participate in the Patriots' upcoming minicamp, the report notes that he was spotted on the field Friday at QB Tom Brady's Brady's "Best Buddies Football Challenge." Though the running back "appeared to be going at half speed and didn't cut," it's nonetheless encouraging to see him moving around on the field in any capacity, as he continues to bounce back from his Nov. 18 knee surgery. While it's not surprising that Lewis is taking things slowly at this stage, ESPN.com suggests that he appears on track to be ready to play in advance of Week 1, in the absence of any setbacks.
