Former Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler will not be present when his previous team attends the annual Super Bowl celebration ceremony at the White House on Monday.

Osweiler, who signed with the Houston Texans in March, released a statement, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, citing his new team's OTA schedule as the reason for his absence.

The Broncos graciously extended an invitation for me to join them at The White House on Monday, but due to a scheduled OTA in Houston, I feel it is important to be at practice with my new teammates. It's a new offensive system for me and every practice and rep is extremely important. I am very appreciative of the Broncos wanting to include me on this special day

Osweiler previously expressed his struggles learning the Texans system.

If Osweiler had decide to attend, things would have likely been pretty awkward. The quarterback has been in a passive aggressive feud with general manager John Elway this offseason after signing his new contract.

His former target Emmanuel Sanders openly requested a new car from Osweiller and Aqib Talib has also expressed his displeasure with the quarterback's departure.

Schefter also reports that retired quarterback Peyton Manning and Von Miller, who has yet to sign his tender or a new contract, will both be in attendance Monday.
