Report: Falcons hosting free-agent Freeney

The Atlanta Falcons are set to host free-agent pass-rusher Dwight Freeney on Wednesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Freeney visited the Cincinnati Bengals last week but left without a contract.

The 36-year-old appeared in 11 games for the Arizona Cardinals last season and notched eight sacks, suggesting he can still be a productive contributor despite his age.

Freeney is a one-dimensional player - he offers essentially no value in run defense - but the Falcons are very thin on pass-rushers and would almost certainly benefit from working Freeney into their defensive rotation on passing downs.
