Cardinals' Nkemdiche reveals first rookie purchases

Robert Nkemdiche made a lot of noise when he candidly shared his dream of buying a panther after signing his rookie NFL contract.

The Arizona Cardinals first-round pick has yet to get his own jungle cat, but he did share his first few purchases with ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

The 21-year-old doesn't require a lot to get by, but he does need a vehicle, so he treated himself to a Cadillac Escalade.

"Escalade has always been a cool car," Nkemdiche said. "It's just like, sleek, spacious. It's cool."

The talented defensive tackle isn't worried about having a "cool" wardrobe, though, shopping at a thrift store for some XXXXL and XXXXXL shirts.

"I'm not a pretentious guy," Nkemdiche said. "I'm a regular, down-to-earth dude, so I don't really have a lot to spend (money) on because I don't really need much."

One pricey item he does plan to purchase for himself: a new saxophone.

"I'm a tenor guy right now," he said. "But after I finish mastering that, I want to move to a soprano."

The Ole Miss product showcased his skills on the sax last December after his infamous fall from a hotel window.
