The Super Bowl could be making its way back to the Big Apple.

New York Giants co-owner John Mara told Gary Myers of the New York Daily News that the Giants and the New York Jets have informed the league that they're considering a bid to host either Super Bowl LVI in 2022 or Super Bowl LVII in 2023.

"We have informed them of our interest in both games," Mara said. "We hope to pursue another Super Bowl. We're not sure yet of the date."

Mara clarified that the two teams have yet to officially decide to pursue one of the events.

Informing the league of their intent is the first step in a process that leads to the Super Bowl Advisory Committee picking which cities will be eligible in the fall of 2017, with the decision likely to be made at the owners' spring meeting in 2018.

Metlife Stadium was home to Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013, proving that cold weather cities can successfully host the sport's biggest game.

With the game reportedly bringing in $500 million into the New York-New Jersey economy, it's clear why the two franchises are set on hosting another Super Bowl in the near future.
