Wes Welker undecided on continuing playing career

Free-agent wide receiver Wes Welker isn't yet sure whether he wants to return for a 13th NFL season.

"I think I'm weighing my options and really trying to figure out where to go with life next," Welker said in an interview on NFL Network's Total Access.

"There are some days I wake up and I'm like 'OK, I'm done.' And other days where I wake up and I'm like, 'Oh, maybe one more year.'"

Welker said he doesn't want to rush a decision and admitted the string of concussions he's suffered in the NFL "definitely" factors in.

He became a star on the 2007 New England Patriots, catching eight of Tom Brady's record 50 touchdown passes. He went on to spend five more successful seasons with the Patriots before moving to Denver. With the Broncos, Welker helped another quarterback, Peyton Manning, break the record for touchdown passes in a campaign by catching 10 of Manning's 55 in 2013.

Sadly for Welker, he narrowly missed winning a Super Bowl with each organization and still doesn't have a ring.

He played eight games for the St. Louis Rams last season and caught only 13 passes for 102 yards. It's possible the forgettable stint will be his final one as a pro.
