Eddie Lacy's weight a topic of great interest at Packers practice

Cary Edmondson / USA TODAY Sports

The Eddie Lacy weight watch is back on.

The Green Bay Packers held their first OTA practice Tuesday, and many in attendance tried to get a glimpse of the (supposedly) slimmer running back.

Lacy looks about the same as last season at first glance, despite news of his P90X regimen and offseason photos of a svelte Lacy making their way around the Internet. His conditioning was a major source of controversy for the Packers last year, with James Starks getting a bigger workload after Mike McCarthy decided to spell the two-time 1,100-yard rusher.

Lacy seemed unperturbed by the topic.

"At the end of the day, we're all grown men," Lacy said via ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "Whether he calls me out, I just have to take care of that responsibility. You don't get mad or (lash) out or anything like that. You just take it as it is what it is and make it go away.

"I feel like I handled it well, and I held up my end of the bargain. It's a process. I've got to keep going and just keep hoping for the best."

Not everyone is interested, harumph.
