Packers' Clay Matthews: Moving back to outside linebacker

Matthews is expected to move back to his preferred outside linebacker position beginning in OTAs this week, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Matthews spent the past season-and-a-half filling in at inside linebacker quite successfully, but the presence of rookie Blake Martinez figures to allow Matthews to return to his usual edge-rushing position starting in OTAs this week. With projected starters Sam Barrington and Jake Ryan also around, Matthews should be able to play outside on a nearly full-time basis once again, which figures to boost his pass-rushing numbers after a reduced tally of 6.5 sacks last term.
