Bills' Charles Clay: Can he pick up sluggish 2015 stats?

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman expects Clay (back) to be more productive this season as quarterback Tyrod Taylor continues to develop, The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis:

Working against this theory is that the Bills are a run-based team, while Clay has never had more than six touchdowns or 759 receiving yards in a season. On the positive side, Roman is known for having productive tight ends, and Clay certainly has the skill set to thrive in this system. The thought also says that Clay was open quite a bit last season, but a green Taylor either didn't notice or was afraid to chuck it over the middle. The Bills plan to have Taylor do that more this season. Finally, the team's only real receiving threat, Sammy Watkins, is far from a picture of model health.
