Report: Dolphins unhappy with talk of Tunsil ankle issue

The idea that Laremy Tunsil is making the jump to the NFL with long-term concerns over the health of his ankle appears to have irked the Miami Dolphins.

After Bleacher Report's Jason Cole suggested a pre-arthritic ankle condition contributed to Tunsil's first-round slide, team officials - according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald - are both "puzzled" and "borderline angry."

While the former Ole Miss offensive tackle was available much later than expected, falling to the Dolphins at No. 13, his tumble has largely been attributed to the gas mask bong video that surfaced minutes before the draft.

Cole cited multiple league sources in reporting the condition also may have been a significant factor in his slide, and the ankle could be even worse than Myles Jack's knee in the long term.

Medical reports can vary by team, and general manager Mike Tannenbaum squashed the idea of the Dolphins having any concerns with Tunsil in an appearance on WQAM-560.

"None. Zero (concerns)," Tannenbaum said, via Salguero. "He's full go. He's fine. We never had concerns about his ankle."

Seemingly healthy heading into his rookie training camp, Tunsil can be expected to compete for a starting spot on the offensive front. The logical fit appears to be at guard, but it may not be long before he pushes Branden Albert for reps at left tackle.
