Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden removed his walking boot Tuesday after undergoing ankle surgery in March.

Haden suffered the injury during a Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Due to myriad injuries, including a concussion, Haden played in only five games last season and was placed on season-ending injured reserve in December.

The two-time Pro Bowler hasn't set a timeline for his recovery.

"I got rid of the boot yesterday, making progress, no timetable yet," Haden said Wednesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Haden said he's focused on not missing any games and was perturbed by the suggestion that he'll miss regular-season action.

"It was a little upsetting because I just feel like the way that I'm going to be working, and the way that I'm going to try to get back, I'm going to be back definitely for sure not to miss any regular season time," Haden said.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson remains optimistic about Haden's recovery.

"He's worked extremely hard and he's done an outstanding job. I think he'll be out there sooner than later," Jackson said of Haden.

The corner also provided Jackson with a vote of confidence. Jackson was appointed head coach in January, and is the fifth head coach Haden's had since being drafted seventh overall in 2010.

"Hue Jackson is the best thing that's happened to the Browns since I've been here," he said.
