The New Orleans Saints are working out a group of receivers on Wednesday and among them is veteran wideout Hakeem Nicks, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Nicks is currently a free agent after bouncing around the league the last few seasons. He disappointed during a stint with the Indianapolis Colts in 2014 and was cut before the 2015 campaign by the Tennessee Titans.

The 28-year-old was a mid-season signing by the New York Giants, with whom Nicks spent the first five years of his career with. However, he was unable to make an impact, catching seven passes for 54 yards in six games.

Nicks would likely be asked to act as veteran depth on the Saints, with the team having several intriguing young players in their starting lineup, including Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, and rookie Michael Thomas.

Along with Nicks, the Saints also put Denarius Moore, Vincent Brown, and Nathan Palmer through a workout, reports ESPN's Adam Caplan.
