The New Orleans Saints released kicker Josh Scobee, the team announced Tuesday.

The team also announced the release of offensive tackle Bryan Witzmann and signing of cornerback Jimmy Pruitt.

The 33-year-old Scobee signed a one-year deal with the Saints in March after spending the 2015 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Scobee's career has been on a decline since being traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2015 preseason.

The veteran place-kicker failed to connect on his first two field goals with his new team before botching a pair of clutch kicks in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. He was released two days after the game and replaced with Chris Boswell.

Following Scobee's release, Kai Forbath is expected to be the Saints' starting kicker, but there is still plenty of time to bring in others for a tryout.

Scobee has spent 12 seasons in the NFL, 11 of them with the Jaguars, and holds the NFL record for most 50-plus-yard kicks in one game.
