Bengals' Shawn Williams: Signs four-year extension

Williams signed a four-year extension that runs through the 2020 season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Analysis:

A valuable reserve last season, Williams is now expected to replace the departed Reggie Nelson (signed by Oakland) as a starting safety alongside George Iloka. The 2013 third-round selection came out of college with a reputation for his hitting and run-stopping, but he's also proven to be quite capable in pass coverage as well. Williams and Iloka both offer IDP potential for 2016.
