Browns' Cody Kessler: Makes good first impression

Kessler has made a good first impression on head coach Hue Jackson, but it's too soon to tell where he'll stand after the Browns' upcoming quarterback competition, Cleveland.com reports.

Analysis:

Kessler was drafted in the third round of last month's draft and will compete with fellow quarterbacks Robert Griffin and Josh McCown for pegging on the Browns' depth chart. The former USC standout reportedly impressed with his accuracy and footwork during rookie practices last week, but Jackson deemed it too soon to project whether Kessler can or can't win Cleveland's starting job. Rather, the Browns' upcoming OTAs and subsequent training camp is expected to sort out their competition at the position. In any case, Kessler has helped himself by showing well in his chances thus far.
