Former Tulsa standout wide receiver Keyarris Garrett wasn't one of the 253 prospects to be selected in this year's draft, and ultimately landed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent.

However, Garrett believes he wasn't just worthy of being selected, he thinks he's better than all 34 receivers taken in the draft.

"I say that all the time," Garrett said this past weekend at the Panthers' rookie minicamp, according to ESPN's David Newton. "That's just how I feel. I had the best numbers out of any of the receivers. My numbers don't lie.

"That's why I felt like I was the best wide receiver."

Garrett has a point about his numbers. His 1,588 receiving yards on 96 catches led the nation. The problem is, production is always secondary to talent and potential when it comes to scouting. This is highlighted by the fact that the first wideout taken, Corey Coleman, had the ninth-most receiving yards in college football last season.

"I haven't gotten like a really good reason as to why I wasn't drafted," Garrett said. "I have no idea. I'm not really concerned about that anymore. That's in the past."

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera was equally perplexed by the fact Garrett wasn't chosen.

"I'm surprised. I really am," Rivera said. "I got messages, emails, phone calls saying, 'Hey, you guys got a steal. This guy should have been drafted.'"
