Bears' Kevin White compared to Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne by WR coach

Jerry Lai / USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears were quite disappointed not to have the services of first-round receiver Kevin White in their lineup last season, but the wait has only grown the hype.

White is back on the field this spring for the Bears' offseason workouts, after missing his rookie season due to injury, and he has been impressing his coaches.

"He reminds me of Andre Johnson, very similar to him. Hands similar to Reggie Wayne," Bears wide-receiver coach Curtis Johnson told Zach Zaidman of CBS Chicago.

Johnson had first-hand experience with both Johnson and Wayne as their wide-receivers coach while they played their college ball at the University of Miami. Wayne and Johnson currently sit eighth and ninth respectively on the NFL's all-time receiving yards list and are both expected to be future Hall of Famers.

White will be expected to start opposite Alshon Jeffery, who has yet to report to Bears offseason workouts while he tries to negotiate a long-term contract, and essentially provide Chicago with a secondary first-round pick in 2016.
