Indianapolis Colts quarterback and noted nerd Andrew Luck doesn't watch "Game of Thrones," but it's not because he isn't a fan of the fantasy series. In fact, it's the opposite.

Luck, who recently launched his own book club, told The Ringer's NFL podcast that he's waiting for George R. R. Martin to finish writing the sixth book, "The Winds of Winter," before he watches the show.

"Of course I read the books," Luck said, according to Jordan Heck of the Sporting News. "I have seen a couple of episodes (and) they're fantastic, but I understand that the shows are sort of past the books now, so I'm really trying to stay away from anybody talking about the shows. Especially Dwayne Allen, who talks about them a lot.

"I know, the fool that I am."

No one knows when "The Winds of Winter" will be finished, but Luck is in no rush. He said he's content to wait until after he's retired from the NFL to start watching the series.

"It will make it that much sweeter," he said.
