Brock Osweiler is tasked with becoming the Houston Texans' new franchise quarterback after being handed a four-year contract worth $18 million annually, but he has to come to grips with the team's playbook first.

Osweiler admitted that adjusting to the Texans' terminology has been a huge undertaking, though the experience he's gained during his four-year NFL career and offensive coordinator George Godsey are helping the transition.

"It's like you speak Spanish your whole life and then they tell you to go learn French and do it in front of 75,000 people," Osweiler said, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. "It's been fun. To come here and learn a new system, one thing I'm realizing is there are a lot of really good answers and things that go with this system if you're willing to put in the time and ask questions, good questions.

"That's what we're doing right now as a unit. Coach Godsey is a brilliant mind, a great teacher and it's been fun learning from him so far. There is certainly some carry-over from my previous four years which makes things a lot easier. I don't exactly feel like a rookie."

Osweiler will lead an offense that's seen a massive overhaul this offseason. The Texans added running back Lamar Miller and guard Jeff Allen in free agency, cut their all-time leading rusher in Arian Foster, and added two explosive wideouts in the draft, Will Fuller and Braxton Miller.

"I'm just trying to be a good teammate, come in the building every single day, work hard, get to know the guys, and find my role," Osweiler said.
