Cowboys' Dez Bryant: May not be full participant in June minicamp

Although head coach Jason Garrett said that Bryant is making "progress" in his recovery from surgery on his right foot, the wide receiver may not participate fully in mandatory minicamp in June, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports. "Like with all those guys, it's a day-by-day, week-by-week thing," added Garrett. "But he's had no setbacks, but he really continues to get better and better."

Analysis:

Plagued by foot problems stemming from a broken fifth metatarsal sustained in last season's opener, Bryant was contained to nine appearances and lacked the explosiveness previously exhibited throughout his career. Overall, he tallied 31 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns, which marked career lows across the board, but the January procedure is expected to reestablish his top-tier stature. If he's unable to partake in the full array of drills at minicamp, there doesn't appear to be much question about his availability for the start of training camp.
