Rams' Gurley tops NFLPA's 'Rising 50' list

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley topped the NFLPA's "Rising 50" list released Thursday.

The list identifies players that could lead the league in merchandise sales, with the criteria based off on-field performance, fantasy football appeal, and demand from sponsors.

"We strive to provide partners with a depth of player knowledge they can't get anywhere else," said Steve Scebelo, NFLPA vice president of business development and licensing. "And, through resources like the Rising 50 list, we can encourage them to create more products that represent an even wider variety of players who have so many unique characteristics."

Other notable names include Rams quarterback Jared Goff (No. 4), Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (No. 7), and Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (No. 14).
