Chiefs' Eric Fisher: Contract option exercised

Fisher's fifth-year contract option has been picked up by the Chiefs, NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick in 2013, struggled through his first couple seasons, but finally appeared to develop into a high-level offensive lineman last term. The 25-year-old spent time at both tackle positions as well as left guard last season, making his versatility and recent improvement reasons for the Chiefs to maintain his services through 2017.
