Shepard actually profiles as a younger version of Cruz with his speed, quickness and ability to play the slot. He also has a large catch radius for a 5-11 receiver and a 41-inch vertical leap so he plays bigger than his size. Should Cruz not be able to recover from the injuries that have kept him out since October of 2014, Shepard would start opposite Odell Beckham and often see single coverage.
