Seahawks' Ryan calls for the end of 'Mr. Irrelevant' tag

Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan is demanding more compassion during the final day of the draft.

The final pick of the event is deemed "Mr. Irrelevant", a label that Ryan took issue with after Kalan Reed was selected by the Tennessee Titans.

Ryan's contention may not hold up, as the last pick in the draft has been labeled "Mr. Irrelevant" since 1976.

While it seems mean-spirited, the final pick in the draft gets a parade in their honor in Newport Beach, Calif., which isn't a bad consolation prize for their prolonged wait.
