The Jacksonville Jaguars cemented their status as the draft's early winners when they traded up at the top of the second round to draft UCLA linebacker Myles Jack.

Jack, who fell out of the top five and then the first round due to a potentially long-term knee issue, says he's fully healthy and his rookie season will not be impaired by his knee.

"I'll be there at rookie minicamp," Jack said. "I'm 100 percent healthy. I'm cleared. The knee shouldn't be a concern anymore. I have definitely proved that with my play. There's nothing else to talk about. I'm ready to play ball."

The Jaguars say they were not put off by reports of a chondral defect in Jack's right knee that could require micro-fracture surgery and shorten the UCLA product's career. They even considered trading into the first round to grab Jack, with head coach Gus Bradley touting the vigorous workout the team put him through.

"One of the things when we went out to UCLA and worked him out was it was a pretty vigorous workout," Bradley said. "Maybe a different type of workout than we did with traditional linebackers, a lot of quick change of direction, not a lot of rest time, really tried to strain him and then just to see how he would recover from it. Really felt like he did a nice job in that."

With the Jags taking three defensive players, including Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the fifth overall pick, the franchise is clearly looking to bolster a unit that finished 24th in the league.
