Free-agent quarterback Brian Hoyer is planning to wait until after the draft plays out before deciding where he will sign for next season, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It was originally reported that five-to-six teams were interested in Hoyer following his release from the Houston Texans, but only the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys identified themselves as possibilities.

Broncos general manager John Elway said last Thursday that signing Hoyer is a "real possibility" after hosting the veteran quarterback. The Jets met with the 30-year-old on April 19, but are still expected to pursue signing Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter.

Lots of things can change with quarterback situations throughout the league at the draft. Quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are expected to be drafted with the first two picks, but the destination of Memphis pass-thrower Paxton Lynch is unknown and could help determine Hoyer's decision.

Hoyer has spent time with five teams through his seven-year career, primarily being used as a backup. He threw for 2,606 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions through nine starts with the Texans in 2015.
