Jaguars select edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue in 3rd round

The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected outside linebacker Yannick Ngakoue out of Maryland in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 69th overall.
Ngakoue sports good lateral quickness and will be used on obvious passing downs. During his college career, Ngakoue was used all over the field.
At the professional level, Ngakoue will need to improve against the run.

Strengths
- Good lateral quickness allows him to rotate onto ball carriers.
- Lines up all over the field and shows base familiarity with all aspects of the team's defensive scheme.
- Displays good closing speed when ball carrier's in vicinity.
Weaknesses
- Needs to do a better job of disengaging from blocks - gets driven out of the play far too often.
- Struggles in the run game and gets lanes closed off by offensive tackles and tight ends.
- Needs to work on first step; lacks explosion coming out of his stance.
