Chiefs select LB Dadi Nicolas in 6th round

The Kansas City Chiefs have selected linebacker Dadi Nicolas out of Virginia Tech in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 203rd overall.
Nicolas is still raw as he makes the transition to the NFL, but his athletic ability certainly gives him some upside in looking to the future.
An already deep group of edge-rushers will allow the Chiefs to be patient with Nicolas' development early on.

Strengths
- Beats offensive lineman with a wide array of pass-rushing moves.
- Nicolas shows good acceleration and straight-line speed for an outside linebacker.
- Explosive first step and shows a tendency to fly upfield towards the ball carrier.
Weaknesses
- Nicolas gets overpowered on nearly every snap and struggles profoundly to disengage from his blocker.
- Gets redirected quite easily and is taken out of plays on an alarmingly regular basis.
- Struggled against elite collegiate teams, which could translate to the professional level.
- Needs significant improvement against the run, is best utilized solely on passing downs.
