Agent: Eagles should've told Bradford of draft plans

It came as no surprise to Philadelphia Eagles vice president Howie Roseman when his quarterback Sam Bradford demanded a trade following the Eagles acquisition of the second-overall pick.

Bradford can't say the same thing about the news that the Eagles would be moving up to select the quarterback of the future.

"As they were making this plan, it would have been nice if they had told (Bradford) about it," Bradford's agent Tom Condon told Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.

A former first-overall pick himself, Bradford is not thrilled at the idea of being a stop-gap quarterback, with fans clamouring to see their rookie pass-thrower at every missed throw. He also doesn't approve of the team not committing all that they can to win this season.

"Basically, our contention is that the team could have used the draft picks on offensive and defensive players for this season, to win this season," said Condon. "If the plan was to build for the future, where does that leave Sam this year?"

Although there were reports of the Denver Broncos' interest in Bradford, the Eagles haven't shown any sign that they will back down from their statement that he will be their starter.

Condon has said his request for Bradford to be traded was denied and his client does not plan to attend any voluntary workouts until his demand is met.

"It's his right to demand a trade and he wants to be traded," said Condon.
