FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Re-signing Ryan Fitzpatrick remains a ''priority'' for the New York Jets, although general manager Mike Maccagnan says there's not necessarily a deadline to have the quarterback back on the roster.

Fitzpatrick and the Jets remain in a contract stalemate Friday, six days before the NFL draft. Maccagnan, speaking at the team's pre-draft news conference, says the Jets would consider selecting a quarterback at any point in the draft, regardless of Fitzpatrick's situation.

Memphis' Paxton Lynch might be a target at No. 20 for the Jets. The Jets also recently worked out Brian Hoyer as a possible fallback option.

Maccagnan also says the Jets are not actively looking to trade defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, who received the franchise tag and is looking for a long-term deal.
