Rams add a burner in WR Mike Thomas

Bruce Thorson / USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams have selected wide receiver Mike Thomas out of Southern Mississippi in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

One of college football's most productive receivers in 2015, Thomas registered 71 catches for 1,391 yards and 14 touchdowns. His addition to the Rams with the 206th pick, shows a clear movement to get new quarterback Jared Goff some weapons for the 2016 season.

Los Angeles took tight end Tyler Higby and receiver Pharoh Cooper in the fourth round, and tight end Temarrick Hemingway in the sixth to aid in the No. 1 overall pick's development at the professional level.
