Mike Evans disappointed in 1,200-yard sophomore season

Despite posting the 11th-most receiving yards in the NFL in 2015, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans believes his second pro season was "disappointing."

The 22-year-old had 74 catches for 1,206 yards and three touchdowns in 2015 after making 68 catches for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie in 2014.

"I had some decent games (last year), but it was a disappointing season on my end, for sure," Evans told The Tampa Tribune. "Even though I improved in some categories, it was a disappointment.

"People would say I had a sophomore slump last year. I guess that's fair. People can say what they want. I increased in some of my numbers, but I wasn't as consistent."

Evans led the league in drops last season with 11, and had the most penalties by any wide receiver, with 10. He said he needs to focus his energy on the more important parts of the game.

"If you've seen me throughout my career, I play with an attitude," said Evans. "I play with fire. I play with passion. But there's a difference between being passionate and being dumb or being hotheaded."
