The Broncos have offered Miller a contract worth $17 and $18 million per year, 9NEWS reports.

Analysis:

The deal would appear to put Miller ahead of fellow premier pass rushers J.J. Watt and Justin Houston and just behind Ndamukong Suh's original contract, which has already been restructured to provide Miami with cap relief. At first glance, the offer seems to be the going rate for top-shelf defensive talent. Timing is everything, however, and Miller is in position - after his dominant postseason run - to set the going rate for defensive stars. In a market where Olivier Vernon, who had just 2.5 more sacks in all of 2015 than Miller had in the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl, is getting $17 million a year, expect Miller's final number to be closer to $20 million annually.
