Brock Osweiler is now the future of the Houston Texans, and he's doing his best to get acclimated to his new organization.

Osweiler, who signed a four-year, $72-million contract in March, gathered his wide receivers for workouts on Monday. The group includes DeAndre Hopkins, Jaelen Strong, Cecil Shorts, and Keith Mumphery, and they're expected to stay for about a week.

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien seemed thrilled by the development, alluding to the carousel of quarterbacks in years past.

"DeAndre's had to play with nine different quarterbacks in two years, which is a testament to DeAndre that he's been able to function at a high level with those guys," O'Brien said to ESPN's Tania Ganguli. "It'll be the consistency. He'll be able to work with this guy time and time again."

Under league regulations, the Texans cannot meet with the coaching staff for another two weeks, but if all goes as planned, the new-look passing game could be off to a torrid start.
