Brandon Marshall: Fitzpatrick 'better be' back with Jets in 2016

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall continues to lobby for the return of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Marshall was at the New York Athletic Club on Tuesday night to receive the Ernie Accorsi Humanitarian Award, where he was asked if he thinks Fitzpatrick will be back with the Jets in 2016.

"He better be," Marshall said, according to Brian Heyman of Newsday.

Contract talks between Fitzpatrick and the Jets have been at a standstill, with Fitzpatrick reportedly seeking more than the team's offer of $7 million per year.

Head coach Todd Bowles was also at the New York Athletic Club on Tuesday, and while he declined to address the Fitzpatrick situation, he did provide an encouraging message to Marshall.

"We'll be OK," Bowles told him.
