Report: Kaepernick willing to take pay cut, just not what Broncos are offering

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick may not be totally against the idea of playing for less after all.

Kaepernick is willing to take a pay cut to play for the Denver Broncos, just not one as big as what they're offering, a source close to the situation told Mindi Bach of CSN Bay Area.

The Broncos' latest offer to Kaepernick is reportedly $7 million annually for 2016 and 2017. Kaepernick would consider a deal with Denver for slightly less than his current one with the 49ers, which pays him $11.9 million and $14.5 million, respectively, over the next two seasons, the source told Bach.

Kaepernick flew from Denver to San Francisco on Sunday night, arriving in time for the start of the 49ers' offseason program and thus triggering a $400,000 workout bonus.
