The Green Bay Packers selected offensive tackle Kyle Murphy out of Stanford 200th overall in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Green Bay took fellow tackle Jason Spriggs in the second round to likely play opposite Bryan Bulaga, so Murphy's career should begin in a backup role.

Kyle Murphy Bio

Position: OT
School: Stanford
College Experience: Senior
Height: 6-6
Weight: 305 lbs.

Strengths

  • Combination of length and athleticism that could get him looks as a left tackle prospect, despite only playing one year at the position in college.
  • Athletic run-blocker who wins as the low man and stays on blocks downfield.
  • Fundamentally sound laterally as he slides well in pass protection.

Weaknesses

  • Lacking overall strength and balance. Needs to add bulk to his relatively slim frame, especially if he plays on the right side.
  • Doesn't have a deep enough anchor to prevent bull rushes. Plays upright in pass protection despite strong instincts.
  • Footwork doesn't match up with athletic prowess.
