NFL Game Summary - San Francisco at San Diego

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - B.J. Daniels threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead the San Francisco 49ers in a 41-6 rout over the San Diego Chargers to end the preseason.

Starter Colin Kaepernick went 3-for4 for 64 yards and a score in his only series of the game for the 49ers, who finished the preseason with a mark of 3-1.

San Francisco, which lost in the Super Bowl to Baltimore last season, will begin its season at home against Green Bay in Week 1.

Brad Sorenson was picked off twice while Charlie Whitehurst was also intercepted for the Chargers, who went 1-3 in the preseason.

San Diego, which went 7-9 in 2012, plays host to Houston to begin the 2013 season.

Kaepernick and Quinton Patton got together on a 43-yard score on the opening possession of the game, but Nick Novak later hit a 41-yard field goal to make it a 7-3 game after one quarter.

Phil Dawson hit a 47-yard field goal in the second quarter and Colt McCoy and Anthony Dixon got together on a 5-yard score to give the 49ers a 17-3 lead.

Novak's 48-yard field goal late in the first half cut San Diego's deficit to 17-6 at the break.

A 40-yard field goal from Dawson in the third quarter along with a blocked punt that was recovered by Cam Johnson in the end zone gave the 49ers a 27-6 lead.

Daniels had touchdown passes of 45 and 14 yards to Lavelle Hawkins and Chuck Jacobs, respectively, in the fourth quarter.
