NFL Game Summary - Oakland at NY Jets

East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Geno Smith threw for one touchdown and ran for another to lead the New York Jets to a 37-27 win over the Oakland Raiders at MetLife Stadium.

Smith, who was pulled from last week's 23-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins, bounced back and completed 16-of-25 passes for 219 yards and also rushed for 50 yards on five caries.

Kellen Winslow caught three passes for 61 yards and Jeremy Kerley finished with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown for the Jets (6-7), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

"This is a big win for us, clearly," said Jets coach Rex Ryan. "Today was a day where the offense had to pick up the defense. Same with the special teams. The defense wasn't very sharp."

Nick Folk was 3-for-3 on field goals, including a season-long 51-yarder in the win.

Oakland started the game alternating between Matt McGloin and Terrelle Pryor at quarterback, but stuck with McGloin from the midway point of the second.

McGloin finished 18-for-31 for 245 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Pryor was a pedestrian 2-for-5 for 20 yards in just two series.

Marcel Reece rushed for a career-high 123 yards and a touchdown and Rod Streater caught seven passes for a career-high 130 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (4-9), who have dropped 13 straight games played in the Eastern time zone. Oakland's last win in the Eastern time zone came against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 6, 2009.

"We didn't start fast and gave up a lot of points. We turned the ball over and put ourselves in a hole. I thought the offense did a great job trying to come back in the second and give ourselves a chance," said Raiders coach Dennis Allen.

New York got on the board on its opening possession on Folk's 41-yard field goal.

After forcing a punt on the ensuing possession, Smith threw his NFL-worst 20th interception of the season at the Jets' 37. McGloin couldn't get anything going and Sebastian Janikowski pushed his 52-yard field goal attempt wide right.

Smith bounced back and threw his first touchdown pass since Week 7 to Kerley for a 10-0 lead. Kerley and Santonio Holmes both raced to the end zone down the left side. Kerley, though, pulled up just inside the goal line and was able to get position on his defender to haul in the score.

The Raiders got on the board 2:29 into the second quarter when Janikowski split the uprights from 41 yards out.

Ed Reed picked off McGloin inside the Raiders' 10 to set up a 23-yard Folk field goal. On 3rd-and-goal from the five, Smith floated a perfect pass to Holmes in the back corner of the end zone, but Holmes dropped it to force the field goal.

Antonio Allen blocked Marquette King's punt on the Raiders' next touch and recovered it in the end zone for a 20-3 lead.

Oakland scored on the second play of the second half as Reece burst through the line and raced 63 yards for a touchdown.

Later, Smith ran it in himself from eight yards out to cap a 10-play, 72-yard trek to put the hosts in front 27-10.

McGloin connected with Streater for a 48-yard touchdown, firing a bullet as Reed and Jets defensive back Antonio Cromartie collided going for the ball, allowing Streater to waltz into the end zone untouched.

Folk and Janikowski traded field goals from 51 and 40 yards, respectively, before Ivory made it 37-20 with a 15-yard run with 9:07 remaining.

Mychal Rivera caught a 1-yard TD pass with 2:24 left to make it a one possession game, but the Raiders were unable to execute the ensuing onside kick, and the Jets were able to run the clock out.
