Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Cam Newton passed for 242 yards and three touchdowns, while scoring another on the ground, as the Carolina Panthers pasted the Minnesota Vikings, 35-10, on Sunday.

Newton was good on 20 of his 26 passes and totaled 30 yards on nine totes for the Panthers (2-3), who have won two of their last three.

Brandon LaFell led all receivers with 107 yards and posted a TD catch among his four receptions, Steve Smith also notched a scoring grab and Mike Tolbert reached the end zone twice on a pass and rush.

Matt Cassel completed 32-of-44 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown and two picks for the Vikings (1-4), who failed to keep momentum from last week's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Adrian Peterson, playing less than 48 hours after the death of one of his children, ended with 62 yards on 10 carries and three catches for 21 yards.
