Report: 49ers' Smith expected to be cleared for Sunday
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, who missed last week's game against the Chicago Bears due to a concussion, is expected to be cleared to play for week 12 vs. the Saints, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Reportedly, Smith was never given the "contact test" last week, the final step a player must take in order to be cleared to play.
In his absence, Colin Kaepernick started Monday night, and recorded 232 yards passing with two touchdowns.
On the season, Smith has 1,731 yards passing and 13 touchdown passes.
