Adrian Peterson cleared for contact

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has taken a step forward in his recovery from reconstructive knee surgery. Peterson was cleared for full activity and took part in his first full-pads practice on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old's 2011 campaign came to an end in Week 16 when he tore his ACL against the Washington Redskins. Peterson's potential return to the lineup is a huge boost for the Vikings, as Peterson was considered a candidate to start the season on the PUP list (Physically Unable to Perform).
Peterson managed 970 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns in just 12 games last season.
