Polamalu admits to concealing head injuries

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu admitted in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show that he has lied about head injuries so that he could stay in games, via the Toronto Sun.

"I've had, I believe, eight or nine recorded concussions," Polamalu said. "When you get your bell rung they consider that a concussion - I wouldn't... If that is considered a concussion, I'd say any football player at least records 50 to 100 concussions a year."

Polamalu even claimed that he has stayed in games, following a head injury, against the medical staff's wishes.

This Polamalu news follows a January HBO Real Sports report that suggested Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has also concealed concussions to team doctors, so that he would not get pulled from games.
