Percy Harvin: Expected to Report to Training Camp
While it's still unclear what issues caused Harvin to skip a practice of last week's mandatory minicamp and ask for a trade (he later returned to practice), head coach Leslie Frazier expects him to report to training camp. However, Frazier said Harvin's touches in the offense may not necessarily increase. "[His] snaps may go up," Frazier told ESPN 1500 at Twin Cities. "Touches, I don't know about that. We want to keep him on the field more, but his style -- he's a reckless guy and doesn't hold anything back. It's always goes 100 miles an hour. So you have to be careful about not overusing him."
Analysis: We'll have to monitor Harvin's status this summer to see if his unhappiness becomes a major issue. But buried in the news over the missed practice and trade request was Frazier's quote that he may not necessarily get a big boost in playing time. That may not be the cause for Harvin being upset, but it's a potential slight negative for his fantasy value since Harvin could have significant upside if he's on the field for more than the 57.9 percent of snaps on offense he was last season.
