Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Tom Johnson is suing two off-duty police officers for allegedly using excessive force during his arrest in October 2014.

Johnson filed a 32-page lawsuit which accused the two officers, John LaLuzerne and Patrick McCarver, of starting the confrontation which led to Johnson being pepper sprayed, tasered, and arrested.

The 31-year-old is seeking $75,000 in damages for the incident because he was "injured, jailed, publicly humiliated, and ultimately forced to defend himself from criminal charges," according to Ben Goessling of ESPN.

LaLuzerne and McCarver were working security in a downtown Minneapolis restaurant when they tried to force Johnson to leave for violating the club's dress code. When Johnson was "retreating" to the exit, McCarver sprayed him in the face with pepper spray, the lawsuit alleges.

Later, Johnson attempted to videotape the officers, but was tasered after having his cell phone swatted away.

Johnson was acquitted in June of the two misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest.
